Elvis Presley Birthday Celebration

Memphians, Elvis fans, and Graceland guests from around the world gathered on the front lawn of Elvis PreIMG_4361.jpgsley’s famous home on January 8 to celebrate Elvis’ 83rd birthday. Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell, Jr. read the official proclamation for “Elvis Presley Day” in Memphis and Shelby County. The ceremony called for two raised stages—one for media, one for a viewing area for hundreds of guests—and an awning in case of inclement weather.

Mahaffey is a proud supporter of this event and provided a fully loaded tent and stages for the internationally livestreamed celebration. Despite providing event support in previous years, Mahaffey installers scheduled early site visits and made recommendations based on ground density and weather forecasts for the outdoor event.

With Tennessee weather being notoriously finicky, the Mahaffey team developed a plan for snow just in case. However, no snow came and Plan A was installed, which included a tent option above the stage that also left room to see the mansion, and extravagant birthday cake from the viewing area on the north lawn.
