How to Celebrate Earth Day Outdoors in Style

Earth Day weekend is upon us, and it’s time to celebrate! Earth Day is a time for trash pick-ups, composting and planting trees, so why not honor it with a little party, too? Make this national holiday enjoyable for friends and family by throwing a fun get-together to recognize the importance of taking care of our planet.

The Joy of Crafts

Get the neighborhood together for a day of environmentally-friendly crafts! You can turn a recycled can or jar into a planter, filling it with gravel, flowers and soil to place on the patio or as a centerpiece on the coffee table.

Earthy Food

Take this time to have a little fun with the food that you’re serving! These carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting are perfect to make and share this weekend. You can even display them nicely with our rectangular platter for all to admire. These mini chicken Caesar salad cups would also be delicious to make, and great to take on an Earth Day picnic, too.

We have the perfect cooler to keep all of your beverages nice and cold! Honor Earth Day best by drinking plenty of fluids. If you’re really wanting to stick to the day’s theme, consider serving beverages in pitchers instead. For adults, consider making the Baby Blossom Fizz, an Earth Day cocktail made with lemon juice, London dry gin and rose petal syrup. Or for Bourbon lovers, make the tree bark vanilla bourbon, made with 2-4 pieces of tree bark. Serve both of these up with our bar highball glasses, and you’re set!

It’s All About the Games

What’s a party without a little fun and games? This Earth Day, engage your children in a recycling relay, by dividing them into teams as they see who can toss paper and plastic into the appropriate bins. The team with the most items in the correct bin is the winner.

Rock and Roll with the Ultimate Earth Day Playlist

No celebration is complete without a little music. The first Earth Day was recognized in 1970, a time when rock and roll ruled the airwaves. From Joe Walsh’s “Song for a Dying Planet,” to The Beatles’ “Mother Nature’s Son,” the Ultimate Classic Rock has the top 20 Earth Day songs ready for your special day.
